Find and learn about the flora and fauna around Australia with Found Around.

Found Around is a game developed by Scott Blissett in woolyungah of the Dharawal people also known as Wollongong, South Coast of NSW Australia.

Want to join the beta?

  1. Have an android phone (iOS coming one day).
  2. Join the Found Around Google Group to enable access to the app. Be sure to be logged into the same email as you are in the Play Store.
  3. Download the app from the Found Around Play Store page.
  4. Test out the app! Go for a bush walk, take some photos, find some animals and email any feedback you have to me.

Dev journal

  • Photo Timestamps: Your captured photos now record the date and time they were taken
  • Bug fixes and stability improvements

Instead of emailing a form through and waiting for me to send out a manual email. You can now simply join the private Google Group and that will enable you access to the play store test app.

  • Welcome Tutorial: Added a comprehensive onboarding experience to help new users learn how to discover creatures and take great photos
  • Enhanced Camera Controls: Added zoom functionality to get closer shots of wildlife, plus a camera flip button to switch between front and back cameras
  • Better Getting Started: New users can now access a helpful tutorial from the settings page to learn all the app features
  • Improved First-Time Experience: Step-by-step guidance through exploring, photographing, and collecting creatures

Created this dev journal to keep track of progress. There is lots of development so far that I'm not going to get in to but it's been a slow journey.

Next thing on the list should be some kind of onboarding/how-to-use Found Around and maybe this can be replayed as a Help section.
